David Japhet, CEO
David Japhet has over 25 years of extensive strategic, financial and operational experience in the market research industry within such companies, Ross-Cooper-Lund, NFO Worldwide, Taylor Nelson Sofres, and WPP. David has been a key member Q’s management team since January 2012 and enjoys working with clients to help them to develop, execute, and maximize their sensory and consumer product insight values. David is a Certified Public Accountant with a BS in Accounting and Marketing from Ramapo College.
Rhoda Makled, SVP, Client Services
Rhoda’s 25 years of market research (including moderating and facilitating), strategy development and consumer research expertise brings a unique perspective to all research projects due to her keen sense for providing business solutions. She is especially skilled at designing and then identifying, procuring and developing the appropriate resources for any research project regardless of the scope. Her client side experience consists of packaging, oral care, baby care and personal care. While her supplier side experience ranges across many more categories, since joining QRS 15+ years ago, she has focused on alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage testing. Rhoda holds a B.B.A. from Eastern Michigan University.
Danny Blatt, SVP, Sensory & Consumer Insights
Danny has over 10 years of consumer research experience in both FMCG manufacturing and the Flavor and Fragrance industry. He has worked across many categories including Beverages, Ice Cream, Laundry, and Personal Care. Danny believes that great consumer insights is the key to developing amazing products that delight consumers and build long term brand loyalty. He graduated from CUNY Baruch College with a MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
Janice Gogerty, VP, Q Partnership Solutions
Janice has over 25 years of experience in R&D and Commercial Operations. Her career includes a wide array of leadership roles within the CPG and Pharma industries, including consumer and technology innovation, global sensory science and consumer insight; within the food, homecare, personal care and healthcare businesses. Previously, Janice held the role of Director Market Research and Business Intelligence at Merck where she played a strategic role in gathering intelligence to aid in decision making for future business direction. Janice’s passion is supporting her clients in managing their brand portfolio by understanding clients’ customers/consumers to ensure new opportunities are delivered in market. Janice holds a BS in food and nutrition science from MSU.
Deborah F. Wright, VP, Fragrance Innovation
Deborah has over 25 years of experience as a strategic leader known for creative product development and innovation within Fragrance & Flavor and CPG companies. Her career included a wide variety of senior leadership roles at International Flavors & Fragrances, including Global Director of Applied Research, Global Account Director for several Fortune 200 Clients, and Co-Director of Global Functional Creation. Previously, Deborah held Consumer Insight responsibilities at SSC&B Lintas Advertising, South Africa after beginning her career in Sales Management with P&G U.S. Deborah is recognized for delivering innovation growth and efficiencies to Home and Personal Care Consumer Products, Fragrances and Technologies. Deborah holds a B.A. in Economics from Denison University.
Jay Katz, VP, Operations
Jay oversees the quality and productivity of product and/or concept/product studies. He has over 25 years of market research experience. While his area of expertise is in laundry and mal-odor testing, his knowledge in fragrance and flavor testing gives him the background to serve his clients from project inception to final client deliverables. Jay attended Rutgers’ University College, majoring in Mathematics.
Caryn Crawford, VP, Client Services
Caryn has 25+ years of Consumer and Sensory Research experience with a deep understanding of the consumer and behavioral psychology behind human perception and product testing. She has been designing research to accurately tap consumer perceptions to guide product development. Caryn’s experience is in consumer product goods and food service categories from Procter and Gamble, Givaudan Flavors and AdvancePierre Foods. She works in partnership with clients to understand and implement best methods and research that lead to actionable results and marketplace wins. Caryn holds a B.A from University of Kentucky.
Carianne Duncan, VP, Client Services
Carianne has over 20 years designing and facilitating consumer research (including moderating), with 19 of those years spent at Procter & Gamble as a Consumer Insights Manager. Specializing in disruptive market innovation and the ability to translate infant ideas into marketplace success stories, she has touched multiple categories within the CPG industry. Carianne has led and collaborated with global multifunctional teams and external industry leaders, creative agencies, and institutions. She possesses expertise in fragrance/malodor design and evaluation, brand identity, marketplace trend analysis, holistic product design, qualitative and quantitative consumer research, and product design and modeling. Carianne graduated from Athens State College with a B.S. in Biology and holds an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix.
Terri O’Rourke, VP, Client Services
Terri is responsible for overseeing a wide range of consumer product research studies focusing on study design, proposal development and client relationship management. She has over 20 years of CPG, supplier side market research experience with a concentration in cosmetics and health & beauty aids. Her background and ability to oversee complex research projects serves her client’s needs from project inception to final deliverables. Terri is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and is a member of Cosmetics Executive Women.
Michele Reisner, VP, Client Services
Michele is a seasoned researcher and partner/advisor to Fortune 500 companies in the space where food, consumer preferences, product optimization and the changing tastes of the American consumer intersect. Responsible for Consumer & Market Insights and Innovation, specifically consumer, business, and merchant behavior. Michele’s personal goal is to help her clients drive the achievement of their key business objectives centrally and through partnerships via the development and execution of strategic research and analysis platforms. As an industry expert, Michele has been published in leading industry journals, co-authored a number of books, and presented at numerous industry conferences. Michele’s research career began under the mentorship of Dr. Howard Moskowitz, wherein she spent over two decades with the renowned psychophysicist and inventor of psychophysical scaling. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, she started her career as a professional Chef at prominent institutions including Windows on the World. The result is a unique perspective of food as a culinary science in the market research world. She sits on the Culinary Institutes review board.

Spotlight on Michele Reisner
Rachel Czapla, Sensory and Consumer Insights Director
Rachel has 14+ years of experience in the food and beverage industry working in Product Development (PD), Global Sensory and Consumer Research. Her experience includes working for a flavor supplier on the PD side before moving to Sensory. She also has worked for a prestigious global chocolate company where she was responsible for rebuilding the sensory program. Rachel’s unique background in Neuroscience, Product and Flavor Knowledge, and Sensory Experience allow her a holistic and strategic approach to research. Presently she manages one of Q’s client’s on-site sensory program that conducts CLTs, iHUTs, Discrimination testing and Focus Groups. Rachel holds a B.A. in Psychology with a Biology minor (concentration in Neuroscience) from West Chester University.
Sharon Peterson, Sensory and Consumer Insights Director
Sharon has over 23 years of food industry experience, including 18 years working in Consumer and Sensory Research. As Client Services Director, Sharon works side-by-side with the client and is accountable for on-site sensory program management, including Central Location Testing, Focus Groups, HUT’s, Discrimination Testing, and Descriptive Analysis. Sharon loves working in the sensory field and particularly enjoys the excitement and challenges of starting new sensory programs. Sharon holds both a B.S. and an M.S. in Food Science from Washington State University.
Laurel Moller, Research Director, Sensory & Consumer Insights
Laurel’s area of expertise is project management, protocol development and compliance. With over 15 years of supplier side experience, she has a unique blend of food & beverage testing as well as cosmetics and fragrance. Laurel is responsible for overseeing a wide range of consumer product research studies from project inception to final client deliverables. She holds a B.A. from Rutgers University and an MBA in Marketing from Seton Hall University.
Tammy Jones, Research Director, Sensory & Consumer Insights
Tammy comes to QRS with 17 years of experience in Full Service Consumer Market Research. Tammy has a proven track record of successfully managing custom ad-hoc research projects with experience in customer satisfaction, concept and product testing, brand image, tracking and segmentation studies. At QRS, Tammy is responsible for overseeing a wide range of consumer product research studies from inception through Analysis and Reporting.
